The Office of Management Analysis and Planning (OMAP) analyses and evaluates Departmental policies, programs, and resources to make recommendations to the Police Commissioner in order to ensure maximum organizational efficiency and effectiveness of the Department. OMAP is the research and assessment arm of the Department, comprised of both uniformed and civilian members of the service with a wide variety of academic and professional experiences. OMAP conducts analyses aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department (e.g. personnel deployments, resource allocation), develops complex pilot projects, formulas policy recommendations and prepares briefing materials for the Police Commissioner on a wide range of legislative and procedural issues. The Office of Management Analysis and Planning (OMAP) is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Community Associate to join the Data Analysis and Mapping Section. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the Department’s organization and operations as it pertains to varying CALEA standards and working directly with our assigned accreditation manager in flagging and correcting any inconsistencies. Specifically, she will be working with numerous stakeholders to collect and organize the required information to bring a standard to compliance. This position requires organizational capabilities and people management at a high level, as there are over 160 standards that the Department needs to be in compliance with.
