The National Ability Center is seeking an enthusiastic Community and Transition Program Assistant to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through community-based programming, employment support, and transition services. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, fostering independence, and helping participants develop the skills and confidence to thrive in their communities. Working alongside a passionate team, you'll facilitate engaging recreation and life skills activities, support employment and volunteer experiences, provide transportation, and create opportunities for participants to build independence, social connections, and community involvement. The Community and Transition Program Assistant supports the implementation of community and transition programming for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including transportation to and from program activities. Programming focuses on developing independent living, employment, recreation, and social skills while fostering meaningful community engagement. This is a part-time, seasonal position for the fall, winter, and spring, typically consisting of 2-3 days per week depending on programming needs. The position includes planned program breaks during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and most of April. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support special events or programming needs. This position is not eligible for remote work.
