About The Position

This is a 6-month, fixed-term, full-time co-op role open exclusively to Massachusetts students and recent graduates who meet specific eligibility requirements. The role supports the Boston Community & Events and Operations teams in creating a thoughtful, connected, and engaging experience for startup members and visitors. The Associate will build relationships with founders, support member communications, and help plan and execute community events. They will also provide event logistics and operational support to ensure the smooth running of the Boston community. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, staying organized, and balancing member experience with behind-the-scenes operational details.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in event/hospitality, humanities, environmental studies/science, entrepreneurship, or a related field, with a strong academic record
  • Relevant experience in event planning, hospitality, or programming
  • Basic graphic design skills or experience with Canva (or similar platforms)
  • Customer service or member support experience preferred
  • Proven initiative and leadership in academic, professional, or extracurricular settings
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with digital tools, such as Asana, Salesforce, and Google Workspace
  • Passion for climate, sustainability, innovation, ESG, corporate social responsibility, social enterprise, startups, and/or storytelling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Support event logistics before, during, and after events, including space setup and breakdown, catering, name tags, signage, vendor coordination, and post-event follow-up.
  • Support the planning and execution of smaller daytime and community events, focusing on creating a welcoming and engaging member experience.
  • Create and update graphics, signage, flyers, member materials, and intranet content using Canva for event promotion and operations.
  • Manage event supply inventory and ensure materials are prepared for upcoming programs.
  • Support member and visitor experience through front desk coverage, office walkthroughs, and maintaining shared spaces.
  • Track and review Certificates of Insurance (COIs), maintain Salesforce records, and run compliance reports.
  • Provide additional support to Greentown’s Community & Events and Operations teams as needed.
