The Community Affairs Manager coordinates the firm’s volunteer engagement and employee giving programs, supporting the development and execution of community initiatives across multiple offices. This role partners closely with attorneys, professional staff, nonprofit organizations, and internal stakeholders to ensure programs are well organized, accessible, and aligned with the firm’s community engagement priorities. The position also supports impact reporting, internal communications, and related Community Affairs initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience in corporate social responsibility, nonprofit management, community engagement, or program coordination
  • Experience managing volunteer programs or community initiatives preferred
  • Experience coordinating initiatives across multiple locations or stakeholders
  • Experience supervising interns or junior staff preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience tracking program data and producing reports
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Knowledge in Sign Up Genius, Benevity, Microsoft Forms, and Copilot

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and administer firmwide volunteer engagement initiatives across multiple offices
  • Serve as lead for volunteer opportunities in the Atlanta office and manage the Atlanta Community Partners Council
  • Identify, research, and cultivate nonprofit partners and service opportunities aligned with firm priorities and community needs
  • Create volunteer role descriptions and project scopes for attorneys and professional staff
  • Coordinate logistics for volunteer activities, including scheduling, registration, materials, and on‑site support
  • Recruit volunteers through targeted internal outreach and collaboration with office volunteer leads
  • Maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations and community partners
  • Partner with office‑level volunteer leads to ensure consistent execution of local initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for team‑based volunteering and firmwide engagement campaigns
  • Evaluate volunteer programs to assess participation, effectiveness, and community impact
  • Coordinate employee giving campaigns, including United Way initiatives across designated offices
  • Assist with managing the volunteer support budget, including expense planning, tracking, and approvals
  • Track volunteer participation, hours, projects, and nonprofit partnerships across all offices
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting tools for internal and external use
  • Coordinate with office leads to ensure timely and accurate data submission
  • Prepare summaries and reports measuring community engagement and program impact
  • Support development of metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and community benefit
  • Serve as a central point of contact for volunteer program communications across offices
  • Provide regular updates to volunteer leads regarding upcoming initiatives and campaigns
  • Coordinate scheduling and communications for firmwide volunteer events and initiatives
  • Draft and support internal communications promoting volunteer opportunities and recognizing participation
  • Support recognition efforts highlighting employee volunteer contributions
  • Supervise Community Affairs interns and oversee project assignments and deliverables
  • Onboard, mentor, and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to interns
  • Ensure intern work aligns with department priorities and timelines
  • Provide operational and administrative support for additional Community Affairs initiatives as needed
  • Assist with coordination of pro bono‑related activities
  • Support charitable sponsorships and nonprofit partnership initiatives
  • Track sponsorship commitments and related engagement activities
  • Assist with logistics and communications for community partnership events
