For more information, visit www.hormelfoods.com . RESPONSIBILITIES: We’re seeking a skilled communications professional to help shape and deliver impactful internal communications. This individual contributor will develop and execute strategic internal communication plans that inform and engage team members at all levels. Partnering closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, this role will ensure consistent, transparent and impactful messaging that strengthens alignment, drives business performance, and reinforces company purpose, mission and values. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on communicator who is adept at message development and navigating complex topics. Level of position will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, English or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in communications, public relations or a related field with demonstrated success supporting or leading corporate communications initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into communication plans
  • Proven experience supporting senior executives and developing high-impact executive communications
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for a variety of audiences and channels
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills; able to anticipate needs, navigate sensitive topics and recommend thoughtful solutions
  • Strong ability to build trust at all levels of the organization, and build and maintain strong relationships with leadership team members and internal stakeholders
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work independently
  • Experience using communication tools and platforms (including intranet CMS, email platforms, digital signage, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead comprehensive internal communication strategies aligned to business priorities and enterprise initiatives
  • Plan and execute internal campaigns that build awareness, engagement and culture and support our company purpose, mission and values
  • Partner with company leaders to craft clear, compelling messaging and storytelling for key announcements, organizational changes and strategic initiatives
  • Translate complex business strategies into accessible, engaging content for diverse team member audiences
  • Help evolve internal communication channels (e.g., intranet site, companywide newsletter, email, live events like companywide town halls) to maximize reach and effectiveness
  • Establish and track communication metrics to measure impact and continuously improve effectiveness
  • Contribute to issues and crisis communications planning and response, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, coordinated messaging
  • Serve as a resource to internal partners on communications best practices
