About The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Communications, the Communications Specialist is responsible for providing communications support to the department by developing and delivering communications programming, products, and activities. This role provides comprehensive technical and strategic support to the Manager, Communications and the division in achieving departmental communications goals. The Communications Specialist is responsible for carrying out initiatives assigned by the Manager, such as maintaining the departmental website content, assisting in the compilation and editing of information for the Minister's Office, drafting presentations and editing correspondence for senior management, drafting information bulletins, weather closures, employee relations rulings, and media materials, including the coordination and editing of departmental and divisional materials slated for publication.

Requirements

  • Must be a resident of Iqaluit.
  • Experience in communications support.
  • Experience in developing and delivering communications programming, products, and activities.
  • Experience in providing technical and strategic support.
  • Experience in maintaining website content.
  • Experience in compiling and editing information.
  • Experience in drafting presentations.
  • Experience in editing correspondence.
  • Experience in drafting information bulletins, weather closures, employee relations rulings, and media materials.
