Communications Specialist
About The Position
The Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is seeking a talented Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a significant role in both internal and external communications, manage the agency’s social media presence and website portfolio, and support the creation of talking points and presentations for the Director and senior leadership. You’ll also have plenty of room to flex your creative muscles: developing eye catching videos, bold graphics, and compelling digital content that elevates DRPT’s online voice. Requirements
- Knowledge of internal and external communications protocols and strategies, communications dissemination techniques
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain multimedia content for DRPT's presence on websites and social media outlets.
- Demonstrated ability to present public information materials effectively to stakeholder groups and other audiences
- Demonstrated ability to perform under tight deadlines and fast response conditions
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office and creative design software
Nice To Haves
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or similar degree preferred and/or the equivalent relevant training and experience
- Progressively responsible experience in the communications field
