About The Position

The Communications Specialist supports the development and execution of internal and external corporate communications that advance Farm Credit Mid-America's vision, brand and culture. This role creates clear and engaging content to support business objectives across customer and team member communications, regulatory communications, reputation management, and crisis communications. This role applies solid functional knowledge and sound judgment to deliver dependable, high-quality work with minimal direction. Team members at this level manage moderately complex responsibilities, balance priorities effectively, and contribute meaningful insights that support team and functional performance. They are trusted to navigate varied situations, identify improvement opportunities, and operate with increasing autonomy.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with 7 years relevant experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years relevant experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with customer communications preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud preferred.
  • Experience with Monday.com or another project management tool preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with development of written communications and multimedia content, including press releases, Q&As, presentations, infographics, fact sheets, feature stories, and website content.
  • Coordinates photography and videography for events and activities; manages photo and graphic files and maintains required releases.
  • Supports Brand Experience initiatives, including internal and external events, volunteer programs, media relations and training, division calendar, and special projects.
  • Creates and updates content on the corporate intranet and other communication platforms.
  • Partners with business and project stakeholders to identify opportunities for communications execution, streamline processes, and supporting content needs.
  • Assists with tracking, analyzing, and reporting communications performance metrics.
  • Coordinates with Communications and Public Relations Managers to address stakeholder inquiries and feedback, and provide support for crisis communication efforts as needed.
  • Manages assigned work with minimal direction delivering a high degree of accuracy, quality and timely completion.
  • Applies functional knowledge and judgment to evaluate information and make informed decisions.
  • Anticipates needs, manages competing priorities, and proactively communicates status or risks.
  • Supports process improvements by identifying gaps and recommending practical solutions.
  • Collaborates effectively across teams to advance shared goals and business outcomes.
  • Serves as a resource to less experienced team members through informal guidance.
