The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a Communications Specialist. The position works closely with and reports to the Director of Communications, with the primary responsibility of supporting external communication and media relations efforts on behalf of The Citadel. This position will produce written and multi-media products through conception, editing, distribution and promotion while also acting as liaison and a point of contact for local and national media. The creation of opportunities for coverage of campus events will be a frequent responsibility. Successful candidates will have strong writing and diplomatic skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality and a proven ability to collaborate. Among other things, to be successful in this position, one must have good judgment, confidence and have the ability to execute multiple and competing priorities. The position will be vital to developing and producing strategic messaging about the college.
