About The Position

Student Health and Wellness with Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Communications Specialist II. This role involves creating and managing photo and video content for marketing, communications, and digital platforms. The specialist will plan, produce, and edit multimedia projects from concept through final delivery, provide media coverage of events, programs, and campus activities, and develop, schedule, and manage content across social media platforms. Responsibilities also include maintaining content calendars, supporting strategic marketing campaigns, monitoring audience engagement, fostering online community growth, analyzing performance metrics, designing and producing digital and print marketing materials, reviewing and editing communications content for accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment, building, updating, and maintaining department websites and web content, ensuring communications and websites meet accessibility and branding standards, and collaborating with campus partners to support marketing, outreach, and communication initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and related editing and graphic design software.
  • Experience with website design and maintenance using Drupal.
  • Experience managing and planning content for social media accounts.
  • Experience with marketing analytics.
  • Familiarity with health and wellness concepts and experience supporting related programs, services, or communications.
