About The Position

Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) is seeking a Communications Specialist for their Capital Projects team. This role acts as a central point of communication for the development of special and capital projects, while also providing day-to-day communication and public affairs services. The specialist will assist with communications for CSFS projects and services, engage with various partners including communities, government, and media, and support the implementation of strategic communications priorities. They will also provide communications support for significant internal and external projects, assist with community relations, engagement, consultation, and health promotion initiatives, and help with emergency communications as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of professional communications experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a healthcare, child and family services, government or government organization, not-for-profit or corporate environment is considered an asset.
  • Membership in and/or accreditation from IABC or CPRS would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide communications assistance with CSFS projects and services of interest to partners, including but not limited to: communities served, public audiences, community groups, interest and advocacy groups, various levels of government, and media.
  • Assist in the implementation of strategic communications priorities established within CSFS’ strategic and operational plans.
  • Provide communications support to significant projects both internal and external to CSFS.
  • Assist in community relations, engagement and consultation activities and health promotion and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in emergency communications activities, as required.
