Partnership for Public ServiceWashington, DC
Hybrid

About The Position

The Partnership for Public Service's Communications team aims to shift public perceptions, educate the public on the importance of a high-performing government, and foster connections between citizens and their government. The team also ensures that the Partnership's programs and activities are effectively communicated, understood, and acted upon. Communications interns are vital members of the team, contributing to writing, editing, and idea generation. Interns will be assigned to one of four sub-teams: marketing, press, public engagement, or storytelling. Marketing interns will support tasks such as creating the Partnership's weekly newsletter and blogs, and managing social media across platforms like Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Press interns will assist with media relations, including compiling press lists, drafting press materials, and supporting other media outreach initiatives. Public engagement interns will primarily support the public engagement team with updates concerning the Federal Harms Tracker, science grants, and public perception research. Their main project, the Federal Harms Tracker, involves creating data and storytelling products to measure and communicate the impact of actions affecting the federal workforce, spending, and infrastructure. Storytelling interns will provide administrative, logistical, and research support for various projects focused on understanding government perceptions and increasing public awareness of government's role and impact. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in or experienced with communications, public relations, or marketing. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player with strong writing, organizational, and public speaking skills.
