About The Position

Markon is seeking an experienced Communications Officer to support an intelligence customer. The role develops and distributes strategic internal communications, creates and maintains digital content, and supports workforce engagement through messages, newsletters, and events. It also provides editorial quality control, mass email distribution support, regulatory compliance, website issue resolution, and technical coordination among users, managers, developers, IT teams, and external vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 10+ years of relevant communications experience.
• Hands-on direct experience with Joomla and EDGE.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Expert-level hands-on experience with Joomla, EDGE, SharePoint, WordPress, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute internal communications aligned with strategic messaging.
• Draft and publish workforce messages promoting FO events, including All Hands meetings.
• Gather and summarize key topics for the weekly newsletter to engage the workforce.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and technical teams to develop and update digital content.
• Create and implement visually appealing, user-friendly web pages and newsletters.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508, GDPR, CCCA, and other regulatory standards.
• Identify and resolve website issues, coordinating with IT and external vendors as needed.
• Gather content requirements and update web text, images, videos, and multimedia.
• Provide editorial quality control and support mass email distribution using the EDGE Mass Email Tool.
• Work with stakeholders to develop and deploy new communication strategies.
• Act as a technical liaison between users, managers, and developers.
