The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life. The Office of the Secretary exists to provide leadership and support services, administrative direction, and accountability for departmental programs; administrative direction and leadership to ensure the success of subordinate programs; and department-wide coordination, communication, personnel and basic resources needed to accomplish the department’s mission. This position is being filled as a Job Appointment. The Communications Officer 1-3 provides technical advice on personal computer-based operations and the operations of the trunked radio system. Completes all necessary forms to maintain proper up-to-date verification of radio assignments. Effectively monitors, diagnoses, and repairs problems that cause radio system, telephone system or computer system failure. Monitors hazardous weather and/or other situations and notifies area agents.
