About The Position

The College of Education is seeking a Communications and Marketing Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. Oregon State University has been a leader in the field of education for over a century, preparing and empowering the next generation of change-makers. The College of Education strives to be a leader in innovative and socially-just research, teaching and engagement. The Coordinator of Marketing and Communications is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations for communications and marketing in the College of Education, including the development and implementation of web-based content, social media posts, email and social media marketing, graphic design needs and special projects. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications to help support CoEd faculty and staff, students and student workers, alumni, community partners, other OSU employees and the OSU Foundation as needed. The incumbent maintains the integrity of the OSU Brand and the College of Education Aesthetic through written and visual digital, production of social media content, creation of printed materials, and related duties. The incumbent performs assessments of communication strategies, including but not limited to website user performance, social media analytics, and small-scale market analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in visual design, marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or a related field.
  • 4 years’ professional experience in visual and graphic design for print and social media/online content creation.
  • 2 years’ professional experience using web content management systems.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task between multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of equity, accessibility, and inclusive excellence.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with creative software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) and Canva.
  • Experience working with Drupal.
  • Experience with creative arts including graphic design, photography, and creative writing.
  • Familiarity with working in a brand system.
  • Experience with creating content for a variety of social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky and LinkedIn

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the College website, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, current, and compliant with accessibility standards.
  • Develop, create, and publish content across multiple social media platforms and the College's email marketing channels to support engagement, recruitment, and awareness goals.
  • Create and implement an annual social media content strategy and calendar aligned with College priorities and marketing objectives.
  • Design and produce digital and print marketing materials, including graphics, photography, publications, promotional items, and branded communications.
  • Monitor and analyze website, social media, and email marketing performance, using data, emerging trends, and best practices to recommend and implement improvements.
  • Support College branding and promotional initiatives by implementing marketing plans, maintaining brand consistency, and collaborating with internal and external partners.
  • Provide communications support for College events, student recruitment efforts, outreach activities, special projects, and supervision of student marketing staff.
