About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a Communications Manager to lead employee engagement efforts. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, or English, and six years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of AP Style and corporate journalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Attentive to detail with solid editing skills.
  • Experience building relationships with diverse and geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders.
  • Internal communications and stakeholder management experience.
  • Ability to drive positive engagement from a diversified and widespread workforce.
  • Leadership experience as either a direct people manager or project team lead.
  • Must reside within commuting distance of York, PA or Sterling Heights, MI to support a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex technical and program updates into clear, engaging content for employees.
  • Partner with program teams to identify and share internal milestones.
  • Develop a variety of internal communications materials (articles, talking points, intranet content, event collateral) ensuring consistency.
  • Create and manage long-term communications plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate with external communications to ensure internal dissemination of major company news.
  • Prepare internal briefing materials for leaders.
  • Lead communications for ground vehicle products, campaigns, and events.
  • Prepare event content and talking points, and support senior leaders with industry event preparation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and standard-compliant deliverables.
  • Manage internal digital channels for timely updates.
  • Support internal recognition campaigns.
  • Track content performance and use data to improve reach and engagement.
  • Tailor communications for different employee audiences.
  • Contribute to reactive communications and issues response.
  • Gather and incorporate employee feedback to refine messaging.
  • Lead effective meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support internal thought leadership initiatives (Q&A sessions, town halls, fireside chats).
  • Highlight employee expertise through internal spotlights and profiles.
