About The Position

As the Communications Manager at Primordial Labs, you will be the primary architect of our public narrative, ensuring the world understands our technology and the value it brings to our customers. You will work at the intersection of deep tech and national security, turning complex AI products like Anura, into compelling messaging for the media, stakeholders, and the warfighter. The role shapes the product narrative, builds relationships with defense, national security, and tech journalists, prepares leadership for interviews and speaking engagements, and supports government affairs, including engaging with Hill staff, think tanks, and our GA firms. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Director to keep messaging consistent across every channel. Joining our fully remote team means you’ll have the autonomy to drive high-impact PR strategies while working alongside world-class engineers and former special operators to safeguard national security.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in strategic communications, PR, or journalism, specifically within the defense, aerospace, or deep tech sectors.
  • Ability to take "engineer-speak" and turn it into clear, mission-focused content for non-technical audiences.
  • Mastery of AP Style and a track record of crafting tight, memorable narratives under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success in pitching stories and managing complex media inquiries in a highly regulated industry.
  • U.S. Citizenship and current residency within the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • An active Secret (or higher) security clearance is a major plus.
  • Experience working as (or with) a Military Public Affairs Officer (PAO) or a deep understanding of DoD structure.
  • Experience in a fast-paced "build-fast" environment where you are comfortable being a team of one for all things comms.
  • Basic proficiency in tools like Figma, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite to help visualize our tech for social media.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the end to end narrative for our product, helping to craft everything from high-level op-eds to punchy product launch announcements.
  • Building and maintaining deep relationships with top-tier defense trade, national security, and tech journalists to secure high value media placements.
  • Preparing our leadership team for interviews, speaking engagements, and industry demos, ensuring our "voice" is consistent and authoritative.
  • Shape positioning with Hill staff, our lobbying firms, think tanks, and the policy community
  • Collaborating with our marketing, growth, and engineering teams to launch multi-channel campaigns that highlight our mission impact at major events like SOF Week or AUSA.
  • Keep a growing team aligned on company messaging, news, and external comms policies.
