About The Position

The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) is a non-profit medical professional society dedicated to advancing the science and application of cancer immunotherapy. The SITC Communications Manager implements marketing tactics to manage programs within SITC. This includes developing project-specific marketing plans that utilize communication strategies to drive program attendance, educate the public about SITC's work in Immuno-Oncology (IO), attract new members, and disseminate information about upcoming programs, deadlines, and application periods. This role is responsible for overseeing programs and marketing tactics to ensure their successful execution.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams and volunteer leaders.
  • Strong writing, organization, and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Experience developing data-driven reports.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of digital and social media marketing tactics and their application to organizational goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a similar field is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience editing video.
  • Experience planning and designing content such as flyers, postcards, social media posts, and other collateral.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the production of promotional materials, including digital and social media advertising (paid and organic), broadcast emails, website content, direct mail collateral, print ads, and video.
  • Generate, analyze, and maintain tracking reports to measure the success of communication activities and report findings to relevant departments.
  • Monitor project/program status and progress, collaborating with leadership to adjust plans and tactics as needed to meet membership/attendance goals and ensure accurate messaging.
  • Oversee marketing and promotional spending to ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Stay current with new marketing and communications technologies, best practices, and industry trends to identify innovative strategies for lead generation (new members, meeting attendees, virtual community users).
  • Provide support to the Executive Director and Associate Executive Director as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
