About The Position

Responsible for managing and coordinating the operations of the MedFleet Communications Centers. This role involves interfacing with other MedFleet leadership, evaluating resource utilization, managing communication center operations in coordination with other departments, and ensuring efficient resource delivery. The position requires proactive communication to mitigate issues with both internal and external customers, and a focus on continuous improvement of the center's performance through policy, process, and training adjustments. The manager will monitor, evaluate, and improve all Communications Center procedures and personnel capabilities, employing sound quality improvement practices. Key responsibilities include personnel management, fostering teamwork, overseeing hiring, training, and evaluation programs, and directing company resources during Mass Casualty Incidents. The role also ensures quality patient care and service needs, assists with field deployment schedules, and carries out management responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Bachelor's Degree; or equivalent management experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years related communications/management experience in the EMS field.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to manage and direct personnel.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, protocol and procedure manuals, ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively over the phone and to employees of outside organizations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist, and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to think and act properly in Emergency situations.
  • Ability to manage and direct major Mass Casualty Incidents from a central Communications Center.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Florida EMT or Paramedic License
  • Two years of field experience as an EMT or Paramedic
  • Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with other MedFleet leadership and personnel on Communications Center matters and investigates and makes recommendations for resolution.
  • Evaluates most efficient and effective utilization of EMS system unit hours.
  • Manages the Communication Center in coordinating with Operations to ensure the most efficient delivery of resources.
  • Proactive communication with other operational areas to mitigate issues.
  • Proactive communication with internal and external customers to mitigate issues.
  • Review the Center’s performance daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Make adjustments to policy, process, and/or training to improve the Center’s performance.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve all Communications Center procedures, personnel capabilities, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Evaluates deployment data on a continuous basis, and provides feedback to other MedFleet leadership.
  • Employs sound quality improvement practices within the department.
  • Management of Communications Center personnel.
  • Establishes positive teamwork internally and externally with other departments.
  • Manages the Communications Center hiring, training, and evaluation programs and coordinates training programs to be developed as needed.
  • Conducts self in an ethical, professional manner and projects a positive system image.
  • Manages and directs company resources from the central Communications Center for all Mass Casualty Incidents.
  • Manages and Enforces policies and procedures established for the communications centers.
  • Assures quality patient care and patient service needs.
  • Assist with maintenance of the field deployment schedule as necessary.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, practices and applicable laws.
  • Performs other such duties as may be required.
