About The Position

The Hormel Foods Corporate Communications team is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Website Lead to manage and evolve our corporate and retail brand websites. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining content, coordinating enterprise-wide website governance policies, and optimizing content for domestic and international markets in coordination with marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, creative skills, and strong project management capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in website management, digital communications, or content strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging and brand-consistent copy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and stay up to date on new tools, technologies and industry trends and an ability to quickly adapt to changes.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, Adobe graphic design and video editing tools.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and GEO best practices is beneficial.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee website changes, ensuring content is current and aligns with brand standards.
  • Lead website-related projects from concept to execution, including redesigns, new feature rollouts, and content updates, coordinating internal and agency resources.
  • Develop and manage editorial calendars for corporate and brand websites.
  • Create and optimize content for corporate and brand websites to improve search engine and generative engine visibility and audience engagement.
  • Create, coordinate and execute supporting social media content as needed.
  • Develop documentation for internal and external contributors to ensure consistent content practices for execution online.
  • Write and edit copy for web using SEO, GEO and accessibility best practices as well as other communications channels, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voice.
  • Track performance and engagement metrics to inform ongoing site structure and content improvements.
  • Coordinate enterprise-wide website governance policies in partnership with IT, Compliance, Legal, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to ensure digital content reflects current privacy, security, and regulatory expectations.
  • Advise on hosting, content management systems, and third-party integration strategies for the enterprise.
