About The Position

Webflow is seeking an experienced Communications Lead to spearhead the next phase of its strategy and growth. This role will be responsible for elevating Webflow's story and bringing it to market across various aspects including company news, thought leadership, product updates, and customer successes. The position is highly strategic, focusing on shaping and executing the company's narrative, managing external communications, overseeing media relations, crisis communications, and brand reputation as the company scales globally. The Communications Lead will collaborate with executives, product marketing, social media, and brand marketing teams to develop communication strategies that support key brand moments and product launches, aiming to increase share of voice across important media partners and publications, and amplify Webflow's narrative.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in communications, PR, and/or brand leadership roles, with a track record of shaping and executing external communications strategies at high-growth or enterprise technology companies.
  • Deep understanding of the technology industry and the ability to translate complex concepts (e.g. AI, product innovation, market dynamics) into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Proven success managing PR agencies to deliver measurable results in media coverage, share of voice, and reputation impact.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in executive voice and thought leadership.
  • Strong media relations experience and established relationships with key business and tech journalists.
  • Experience building and executing crisis communications plans, with the judgment to advise executives in high-pressure moments.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with executives, customers, investors, and other leaders at Webflow to develop key narratives for market introduction, secure leadership buy-in on comms strategy, and activate it across all earned and owned media channels.
  • Oversee and execute all aspects of Webflow's external communications strategy, including developing and implementing media plans, coordinating press opportunities, and collaborating closely with internal comms, social, and employer brand to ensure consistent messaging across every channel.
  • Own executive voice strategy: partner directly with the C-suite on press opportunities, speeches, op-eds, and thought leadership.
  • Lead external press relations by managing PR agencies to deliver strategic, measurable results, while partnering with internal comms, social, and employer brand teams to ensure Webflow’s story is amplified with clarity and impact.
  • Develop and maintain lasting relationships with key business and tech media to ensure they understand Webflow’s unique position as the agentic web marketing platform.
  • Advise the executive team on communications strategy and thought leadership opportunities, preparing them to maximize opportunities including media interviews and public engagements (e.g., keynotes, podcasts, etc.).
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and other teams to amplify and extend the reach of our biggest campaigns and company milestones.
