About The Position

LMI is seeking a Communications Lead to support the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in Washington, DC. We are seeking an energetic self-starter who has expert consulting and customer service skills and is focused on developing practical and efficient solutions to administrative challenges. The Communications Lead will oversee all internal and external communications for the program, ensuring all messaging aligns with NASA’s Space Apps Program objectives and branding standards. This role involves facilitating outreach, managing communication materials, and supporting public relations efforts to enhance program visibility globally. Requirements

  • Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience.
  • Proven expertise in content development, communication strategy, and outreach campaigns.
  • Proficiency in communication tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, MailChimp, and social media platforms.
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, with demonstrated success in managing large-scale communication efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement multi-channel communication campaigns, including social media, email outreach, blogs, newsletters, and webinars, aligned with program goals.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of key publications such as press releases, participant guides, and promotional materials for Space Apps events.
  • Coordinate public relations activities with external stakeholders, including event partners, participants, and media outlets.
  • Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness using engagement metrics to refine outreach strategies and improve program results.
  • Ensure all materials are aligned with NASA branding guidelines and meet compliance standards such as Section 508.
