The U.S. Chamber of Commerce offers a substantive communications internship for current college or graduate students and individuals who graduated within the past six months. Interns gain hands-on experience supporting a team and may work on research, writing, database management, policy, communications, and event preparation. The program includes opportunities to network with colleagues and senior executives and participate in professional-development and educational activities, including company-wide meetings and social events, intern-exclusive discussions with senior executives, and resume-review and interview-preparation workshops. The internship is expected to run from February 1 through April 9, 2027. It is paid at $18.00–$20.00 per hour, and students may receive academic credit if they meet their school's criteria. Interns work part-time on a hybrid schedule and must be in the office at least three days per week at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C. Fully remote applicants will not be considered. Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing if needed. Candidates indicate their top two department preferences. Potential placements include Digital & Social Media, Policy Communications & Public Affairs, Marketing, and Foundation Communications. Work varies by department and can include creating digital content and reporting on channel performance; supporting media outreach, policy events, and communications campaigns; helping implement messaging and develop member-facing marketing materials; and creating communications and promotional content for Foundation programs and events. Applications are accepted until Thursday, November 12, and interviews are conducted in November and December. U.S. work authorization is required; candidates with CPT and/or OPT may apply.
