About The Position

The Communications Intern will support JAG-NM’s outreach and visibility by creating social media content, drafting program updates, and assisting with communications materials. Working with the Communications Director, the intern will turn program activity into content that supports recruitment, employer engagement, and statewide awareness.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count)
  • If Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

  • Self-directed and able to complete tasks independently
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Open to feedback and willing to improve

Responsibilities

  • Create and edit social media content
  • Write short-form content (captions, highlights, updates)
  • Organize and refine content from program staff
  • Support scheduling and coordination of posts
  • Assist with outreach materials (flyers, one-pagers, digital content)
  • Contribute to campaigns (events, internships, employer engagement)
