About The Position

Since our opening in 1987, New Hope Treatment Centers has been a welcoming place for young people in moments of crisis. The Communications Intern will work directly with the Director of Communications & Content to assist in creating engaging multimedia content that promotes the mission and impact of New Hope. The ideal candidate is passionate about communications, content creation, and social media strategy, while also possessing a heart for serving youth and adolescents facing mental health challenges. This internship offers hands-on experience in video production, podcast support, digital storytelling, and nonprofit communications. A primary focus of this role will be assisting with in-house video productions, including support for New Hope’s podcast, “Stuff That Matters,” along with other creative projects and community-focused initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be enrolled in a 4 year college or university.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and any state-mandated employment clearances.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content strategy, particularly Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Basic understanding of video production, audio editing, and storytelling
  • Graphic design experience is preferred, but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a mostly remote environment
  • Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • Creative mindset with a willingness to learn and collaborate

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and therapeutic support to residents.
  • Assist with planning, filming, and editing video content for social media, marketing campaigns, podcasts, and organizational storytelling
  • Support production and post-production for the “Stuff That Matters” podcast
  • Edit video and audio content using Adobe Creative Suite programs including Premiere Pro and Audition
  • Help create and schedule social media content across platforms including Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Collaborate on branding and promotional initiatives for New Hope Treatment Centers
  • Attend select video shoots, organizational events, and community initiatives as needed
  • Assist with content organization, digital asset management, and creative brainstorming
  • Contribute creative ideas that align with New Hope’s mission and voice
  • Occasional travel and in-person opportunities will take place, primarily in Rock Hill, SC
  • Scheduling flexibility may be available depending on academic commitments and production schedules
