About The Position

Groundwork Collaborative is currently accepting applications for a paid Communications internship position for Fall 2026 (September – December). Requirements

You’re a current student enrolled at a two- or four-year university studying communications, journalism, political science, economics, or a related field.
You have strong writing skills with experience writing for an array of audiences – including, but not limited to, blog posts, campus newsletters, and other communications materials written through coursework or previous professional experiences.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
You have exceptional attention to detail, including in editing, proofreading, and ensuring accuracy and consistency in written materials.
You’re committed to a just, inclusive, and resilient economy that delivers opportunity and dignity for all.
All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must be 18 years of age or older.
Additionally, we can only consider candidates who reside in DC, Virginia, or Maryland and are able to regularly work in person at our offices near Dupont Circle.

Experience drafting content for social media channels is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support Groundwork’s communications team by conducting background research on relevant issue areas.
Assist with the preparation and dissemination of periodic press releases and other external facing materials.
Provide administrative support to the Communications team, including by attending events, maintaining catalogs of team materials, and performing other duties as assigned.
