About The Position

Astrion is seeking a Communications/Electrical Engineer to provide remote support for Space System Development. The role provides subject matter expertise in space system communications and supports the design, analysis, integration, and testing of communications systems, including RF communications. It also supports assembly, integration, and testing of complete space vehicles and communications systems, development of communications test beds, and EM/EDU communications system testing. Some CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in space system communications systems and electrical engineering.
• End-to-end space system experience implementing, testing, and flying RF communications systems.
• Space systems engineering aptitude.
• Flexibility in adapting to deadlines, changing schedules, competing priorities, and unpredictable events.
• Familiarity with presenting data and recommendations to a large audience.
• Thorough, detail-oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and an independent thinker with out-of-the-box ideas.
• RF communications expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise for space system communications systems.
• Support the design, analysis, integration, and testing of communications systems.
• Support assembly, integration, and testing of complete space vehicles and communications systems.
• Support development of communications test beds and EM/EDU communications system testing.
• Support European Space Agency space system frequency allocation.
• Provide ad hoc support as required.
