About The Position

Student in this position will assist with the writing and producing of various types of communications-related content. Duties may include creating compelling written, visual or audio/visual content for placement in a variety of print and on-line channels; and organizing the created content and collected resource information in such a manner so that it can be easily located and utilized for future publications. Possesses excellent time management, strong writing and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with others, and uses independent judgement to create a final product.

• Genuine passion for TikTok as well as knowledge and understanding of other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and others.
• Excellent writing, research, organizational skills.
• Familiar with and proficient user of various social media platforms, specifically TikTok and Instagram.
• Ability to capture photos and video on their device.
• Edit and produce short-form content for social platforms.
• Willingness to research trending video concepts and audio to be utilized for Grinnell College.
• Enthusiasm for participating and attending events on campus.

Responsibilities

• Work with Communications team members to develop and execute creative engaging brand content that meets project objectives for campus stakeholders, donors and alumni, student recruitment, image building, and other operations of the College on social media as assigned.
• Monitor engagement with our audiences and share insights and recommendations to optimize social media content.
• Support the social media team in developing a TikTok social strategy to drive brand awareness, engagement, and advocacy.
• Create content for the Grinnell College TikTok account.
• Engage with TikTok followers and monitor conversations from the brand's voice.
• Keep your pulse on the latest TikTok and emerging platform trends and propose ideas on how we can show up on these platforms.
• Work together with the social media coordinator to understand performance and growth metrics in order to adjust creative for optimizing posts.
• Participate in brainstorms and content ideation.
• Be self-sufficient with producing your own content.
