About The Position

As part of the Communications team, you will play an active role in developing and executing strategic communications campaigns for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will help shape messaging, manage elements of communications programs, and contribute to strategic advice provided to clients. This role is ideal for a communications professional with agency or consulting experience who is ready to take on greater ownership of client work and campaign execution.

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of progressive experience in communications or public relations (agency experience preferred)
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field
  • Experience executing strategic communications plans involving owned, earned, shared, and paid media
  • Strong writing and storytelling abilities with minimal oversight
  • Experience working with journalists and securing earned media coverage
  • Strong strategic thinking and issue analysis skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and client expectations
  • Understanding of the Canadian media landscape and stakeholder environment
  • Experience developing and implementing digital and social media campaigns

Nice To Haves

  • French language proficiency
  • Formal training in public relations or communications

Responsibilities

  • Lead elements of communications campaigns and day-to-day execution
  • Develop and implement earned media, digital, and social media strategies
  • Draft high-quality communications materials including media releases, briefing notes, messaging documents, and digital content
  • Build relationships with journalists and support media outreach
  • Provide day-to-day support on client accounts and contribute to strategic communications advice
  • Identify emerging issues and support reputation management strategies
  • Conduct policy, stakeholder, and media research to inform communications strategies
  • Manage project timelines and coordinate deliverables across teams
  • Mentor junior staff or interns where appropriate
