The Alberta Public Service works to build a stronger province for current and future generations. We make a difference in the lives of Albertans through rewarding and diverse career opportunities. The Alberta Human Rights Commission works with Albertans to promote awareness of, and appreciation for, human rights and diversity. Its overall goal is to develop inclusive communities in which all Albertans can participate in the social, economic, and cultural life of the province without discrimination. Created by the Government of Alberta, the Commission is an independent commission that reports to the Minister of Justice. It has a two-fold mandate: to foster equality and to reduce discrimination. It fulfills this mandate through the resolution and settlement of human rights complaints; an administratively fair human rights tribunal process, and through education programs, policy development, and collaborative initiatives.
