About The Position

Athletics Communications Assistants support Plymouth State Athletics Communications with game-day statistics, broadcasting, office work, photography and content creation, and public address announcing at home athletics events. The roles report to the Athletics Communications Assistant for Broadcasting and the Assistant Athletics Director, Athletics Communications. The positions are considered non-essential. Assistants must be available for home events during weekday afternoons and evenings and on weekends, particularly Saturdays; events may still take place when campus is closed. Training is provided to interested candidates.

Be comfortable using computers and current technology.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of sports and/or broadcasting.
Prior experience with sports and/or broadcasting; previous experience is not necessary, and training is provided.

Responsibilities

Enter event data into the live statistics program as a Stat Inputter.
Relay event action to the Stat Inputter as a Stat Caller.
Maintain the official NCAA scoresheet when required for the sport.
Track team members participating in NCAA-sanctioned home events when required for the sport.
Provide play-by-play or color commentary during home athletics broadcasts.
Produce broadcasts, including coordinating commentators and camera operators, running advertisements, controlling on-screen graphics and scoreboards, and managing replays.
Operate cameras at home athletics events and provide the broadcast feed.
Create game programs for home athletics events.
Assist with confirming NCAA statistics at the end of each sport season.
Update the athletics website with pertinent information.
Take action photographs at home athletics events.
Create short highlight clips at home athletics events to promote PSU Athletics.
Announce starting lineups, sportsmanship statements, and special events at home games.
