About The Position

Under the general direction of the Director of Public Relations and Communications, this role plans, develops, implements, and evaluates organization-wide communications and marketing strategies, while also supporting public engagement initiatives. The position is responsible for coordinating communications projects and workflows, developing, managing, and translating multilingual content across various platforms (print, digital, social media), and maintaining communication tracking and resource systems. This role performs advanced professional communications work, requiring independent judgment, project leadership, analysis of communication effectiveness, coordination of complex initiatives, and consultation with leadership on strategic messaging, branding, and community engagement. It involves managing multiple projects and deadlines to ensure timely and accurate communication deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field (may substitute the education requirement with at least 2 years of direct experience).
  • One year of experience creating digital content, using social media platforms (e.g., Facebook and Instagram), and developing visual assets on Canva or similar application(s).
  • Working knowledge of Spanish and intermediate proficiency and experience supporting Spanish-language translation.
  • Principles, practices, and methods of public relations, communications, marketing, and community outreach.
  • Content development and distribution strategies across print, digital, social media, and multimedia platforms.
  • Branding strategy.
  • Social media platforms, engagement strategies, analytics tools, and content scheduling applications.
  • Communications analytics.
  • Foundational graphic design principles and visual communication tools, including platforms such as Canva and similar applications.
  • Project coordination and workflow management practices, including tracking assignments, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Effective written and verbal communication techniques, including business correspondence, editing, proofreading, and presentation of information to diverse audiences.
  • Principles of culturally responsive, equity-centered, and community-focused communication practices.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently uphold Salud’s communication expectations with internal and external partners, communicating with professionalism, empathy, and responsiveness in all interactions.
  • Develop, draft, edit, and distribute multilingual communications content for print, digital, social media, video, and outreach platforms, including newsletters, brochures, annual reports, digital signage, and other organizational materials.
  • Develop or support organizational social media strategy and engagement efforts by creating content calendars, scheduling and publishing content, monitoring engagement metrics, and assisting with analysis of social media performance.
  • Coordinate and manage communications, marketing, and outreach projects to ensure timely completion of assignments, deliverables, and organizational initiatives.
  • Analyze effectiveness of communications campaigns and develop communications recommendations.
  • Provide project coordination and operational support for communications initiatives, including maintaining tracking systems, monitoring project timelines, organizing shared resources, and ensuring accurate archiving of communications materials and documents.
  • Assist with Spanish-language translation and interpretation of communications, outreach, marketing, and organizational materials intended for Spanish-speaking communities.
  • Support executive communications initiatives, including assisting with CEO messaging, confidential communications support, collective bargaining messaging strategy, and translation of executive communications materials as assigned.
  • Coordinate production, printing, distribution, and delivery of communications and outreach materials; prepare purchase orders and coordinate with vendors, printers, and internal departments to ensure timely project completion.
  • Develop and maintain communications resources, guides, and training materials; provide training and technical assistance to staff regarding communications tools, file management practices, branding standards, and related systems.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, vendors, and community stakeholders to support organizational communications, outreach, and engagement objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure consistency with organizational branding, messaging, communication standards, and culturally responsive communication practices.
  • Analyze communication risks.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external partners through professional, responsive, and customer service-oriented interactions.
  • Apply equity-centered and culturally responsive communication practices in the development and dissemination of organizational materials and messaging.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
