About The Position

As Digital Communications Adviser, you'll lead the development and delivery of Taranaki Regional Council’s digital communications programme. From managing major website and intranet projects to creating engaging digital content and leading digital communications projects, you'll help shape how our communities connect with the Council online. Using analytics and audience insights, you'll drive continuous improvement across our digital channels, helping our communities access timely, relevant and engaging information.

Requirements

  • Experience in digital communications, web management or a related field.
  • Experience working with content management systems
  • Knowledge of website development, user experience and digital accessibility principles
  • Experience of using analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Data Studio to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Video production, photography or multimedia content creation skills would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise the Council's website and intranet, ensuring accessibility, functionality and quality standards are maintained
  • Lead delivery of digital communications projects
  • Lead website and intranet development initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and coordinating enhancement projects
  • Create engaging digital content, including website copy, multimedia content and visual storytelling assets
  • Use analytics, insights and best practice to continuously improve digital performance and audience engagement
  • Manage relationships with website service providers and support the delivery of key organisational campaigns and initiatives.
