About The Position

The communication intern is responsible for assisting in a range of marketing initiatives within Wakefield Pork Inc. Our interns are an important part of the Wakefield Pork family and have opportunities to take part in leadership activities, company specific and Minnesota Pork Board events, and more!

Requirements

Be currently enrolled at a 2- or 4-year college or university
Knowledge of various social media platforms, including, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, Tik-Tok, etc.
Excellent internet research skills
High attention to detail, oral and written communication skills
This position may require operating a company vehicle. Any internship offer for this position is contingent upon the review of applicant’s motor vehicle record. The record will be reviewed to determine insurability based on WPI’s company policy and insurance carrier. A Class D license and proof of insurance are required.
A dependable, personal vehicle is required of all interns for the daily work commute. Mileage in excess of 40 miles round trip will be reimbursed.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the creation and implementation of various social media strategies and campaigns
Collaborate with other teams, to align social media campaigns and strategies
Tracking analytics for social media campaigns and engagement to identify high performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
Assist in developing new strategies for increasing engagement
Assist in the responses of social media campaigns and posts through messaging, DMs, and other various forms of communication
Ensure compliance of all social media activity, that line with company’s culture and brand.
Assist/attend organizing of events and campaigns, such as job fairs, community events sponsored by the company, and other various company gatherings.
