About The Position

The Communications Coordinator will provide communications and writing support, as well as a variety of specialized functions, to increase the organization's visibility through internal communications. The coordinator will assist in writing materials highlighting Jackson employees, as well as interacting with internal clients to deliver the organization's messages to staff. Ability to work in a collaborative environment and with key stakeholders, including senior leadership and human resources, a plus. This is a project-oriented position. Position requires exercise ofindependent judgment.

Requirements

  • Generally requires 1 to 3 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
  • Demonstrates excellent writing and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Active license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and proficiency in use of social media platforms, AP Style, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other job-related materials a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Specializes in and Exercise innovative insight and vision in effectively communicating important internal communications messages for a wide audience, as well as writing for public relations to promote Jackson to external audiences in various methods, including press releases, editorial content, and social media posts.
  • Provide writing support for the Communications & Outreach team in the following areas: internal communications, media relations, digital communications, outreach/events, and patient experience projects.
  • Work independently on various writing tasks, in compliance with deadlines.
  • Manage logistics for events, including preparation of marketing materials.
  • Participate in health system events, including supervision of activations.
  • Demonstrate behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
