About The Position

The Employee Benefits+ Communication Coordinator partners with two teams within The MJ Companies. First, this role supports the EB Communication + Engagement team to deliver high‑quality communication materials and supporting day-to-day communication needs that provides an exceptional experience for both MJ associates and clients. Additionally, this position supports the communications related to the products and services of MJ Retirement, which specializes in managing retirement plans and financial wellbeing programs for MJ clients. The position offers valuable exposure to the retirement and insurance industries and employee communications, making it an ideal launch point for a new career path or a growth opportunity within the C+E team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in communication, journalism, marketing, or related discipline preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience creating campaigns and other communications for a professional services company
  • 0-3 years of internal employee communications graphic design experience, ideally at a large corporation, consulting firm, health insurer, or similar organization; related experience considered
  • Basic ability to write clear and compelling copy
  • Excellent proofing and editing skills
  • Beginner ability in developing comprehensive communication strategies and campaigns targeting diverse employee populations in a consultative environment
  • Thrive in a culture of innovation, process improvement, and never settling with the status quo
  • Outstanding people, verbal and written communication skills, ability to prepare clear and concise documents and reports and convey complex concepts to a broad audience with C+E team guidance
  • Beginner ability in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, in particular) and MS Office Suite
  • Experience utilizing online SaaS platforms (e.g. Foleon)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the communication lead for assigned clients, establishing and nurturing strong relationships built on trust and reliability where possible, with guidance from C+E team members as needed
  • Handle production of multiple creative responsibilities ensuring a high level of accuracy under strict timelines
  • Collaborate with clients and MJ associates to develop communication initiatives that drive positive changes in employee health, wellness, financial wellbeing, and overall benefits utilization
  • Alongside C+E supervision, offer proactive and responsive communication strategies and recommendations by staying up to date with industry trends and best practices
  • Handle all aspects of campaign management, including planning, copywriting, design coordination and project management
  • Create and manage all MJ Retirement program materials, communications, internal newsletters, and owned platforms
  • Ensuring MJ Retirement clients are accurately onboarded to team member communication platforms (e.g. Venrollment, Foleon)
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned
