About The Position

This role is responsible for executing daily commodity risk management processes, including trade validation, reconciliation, exposure monitoring, and risk reporting. The analyst will generate and maintain various commodity reports, support liquidity forecasting, and develop financial models to quantify exposures and hedging performance. Key responsibilities also include supporting hedge accounting programs, maintaining financial controls, serving as a key user for commodity risk management systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position requires advanced analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools, and strong communication abilities to provide insights and support strategic decision-making within a complex matrix organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Financial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related analytical field.
Strong understanding of global commodity markets, trading, hedging, valuation methodologies, and risk management principles.
Experience supporting commodity risk management, treasury, commodity trading, market risk, financial planning, product control, or commodity finance organizations.
Experience developing financial models that combine commodity pricing, sourcing assumptions, exposure forecasts, hedge results, and business drivers to assess P&L impacts.
Experience with commodity exposure reporting, Mark-to-Market valuation, trade reconciliation, hedge effectiveness testing, financial controls, and P&L attribution analysis.
Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and deliver actionable insights.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with SQL, Python, VBA, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical and reporting tools.
Experience with CTRM systems, ERP platforms, financial reporting systems, and market data providers preferred.
Demonstrated ability to perform data validation, reconciliation, valuation, financial analysis, and reporting in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Experience supporting commodity trading, procurement, treasury, risk management, hedge accounting, or commodity finance organizations.
Knowledge of futures, options, swaps, OTC instruments, and hedge accounting methodologies.
Experience with independent price verification (IPV), P&L attribution, hedge effectiveness testing, and financial controls.
Experience working with CTRM systems, data warehouses, ERP systems, and business intelligence platforms.
Exposure to agricultural, dairy, energy, packaging, or other globally traded commodity markets.
Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CPA, or equivalent are considered a plus.

Responsibilities

Execute daily commodity risk management processes, including trade validation, trade reconciliation, exposure monitoring, and risk reporting across multiple commodities and regions.
Generate and maintain commodity exposure, hedge coverage, net open position, and market risk reports for business and leadership stakeholders.
Maintain and validate commodity forecast, pricing, position, and market data to ensure integrity and consistency across systems and reports.
Partner with Commodity Price Risk Managers to evaluate hedge structures, coverage strategies, and potential financial impacts of commodity market movements.
Support liquidity forecasting and reporting related to commodity hedging activities, including cash settlement requirements, margin obligations, and derivative-related cash flows.
Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools to quantify commodity exposures, hedging performance, market risks, and business impacts across the global Mars Snacking portfolio.
Deliver P&L attribution and cause-of-change analysis, identifying key drivers of financial performance including commodity price movements, basis changes, hedge impacts, timing effects, and market structure shifts.
Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and risk and opportunity assessments to evaluate financial impacts and support strategic decision-making.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reviews by translating commodity market dynamics and hedging activities into clear financial outcomes.
Prepare executive-ready reporting and insights that communicate commodity exposures, financial impacts, risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
Support hedge accounting programs through documentation, monitoring, and testing of designated hedging relationships in partnership with Treasury and Technical Accounting teams.
Perform prospective and retrospective hedge effectiveness testing to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and maximize hedge accounting effectiveness.
Maintain a strong control environment around commodity transactions, trade validation, market data governance, curve management, and financial reporting processes.
Support internal and external audits by providing valuation support, reconciliation documentation, control evidence, and commodity risk reporting.
Ensure compliance with commodity risk management policies, financial controls, and governance requirements.
Serve as a key user and business owner for commodity risk management and CTRM systems, supporting system integrity, process controls, master data governance, and end-user adoption.
Reconcile data across CTRM platforms, broker statements, ERP systems, market data providers, and financial reporting systems.
Develop and enhance reporting and analytical solutions using Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, and other technology platforms.
Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, transparency, and controls.
Support implementation, testing, and ongoing enhancement of commodity risk management systems and technology platforms.
Partner closely with Treasury, Technical Accounting, Finance, Procurement, S&OP, Commercial Finance, and Commodity Price Risk Managers to support commodity risk management objectives.
Support demand forecast validation and volume planning processes that underpin commodity exposure and hedge management activities.
Support budgeting, forecast updates, cause-of-change reporting, and business performance reviews in collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
Provide analytical support for business planning, sourcing decisions, commodity strategy development, and financial performance management.
Build strong relationships across Treasury, Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Finance teams, providing insights and executive-ready reporting to support business decisions.
