Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in written format in cross-functional environments, including management level.
  • Understanding of supply chain principles.
  • Exposure to manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a commodity team in the development and implementation of recommended strategies and goals for assigned commodities - in support of business objectives related to quality assurance, technology/new product development, risk mitigation, and total cost.
  • Conducts supplier analysis and selection processes, make/buy, outsourcing, and transitions.
  • Acts as project manager in various types of continuation/product support projects.
  • Establishes sourcing strategies by proactively reviewing supplier performance and conducting supplier and part number rationalization and segmentation initiatives.
  • Develops and manages working relationships with both internal functions and suppliers to manage resolution of supplier issues.
  • Leads supplier negotiations in support of executing supply agreements and ensuring supplier’s conformance to company’s terms and conditions.
  • Continuously monitors agreements and expectations.
  • Partners closely with legal department in working contract language.
  • Develops implementation and transition plans to ensure sourcing benefits for the assigned commodities are fully realized.
  • Analyzes commodity spend data, market trends, and dynamics to evaluate or identify sourcing initiatives within designated spend categories.
  • Manages the supply chain by monitoring, reporting, and providing recommendations on issues which could affect quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Presents to management procurement opportunities and associated analysis that are aligned with corporate strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Adheres to corporate and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a physical presence in the workplace.
