As a Commodity Manager, you will develop and lead sourcing strategies for Americas Plastic, Rubber, Gasket, and Resin direct commodities in a global environment. Strategies developed will support supply chain initiatives which include cost containment, regionalization, trade working capital improvement, timely delivery, and quality. Strategies will need to be communicated clearly to large groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a Procurement function or related experience.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A strategic-orientated individual that achieves timely results.
  • Ability to review processes and provide feedback on how to improve the processes.
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets and charts
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time (primarily in North America).

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years of experience in a Procurement function or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a direct material sourcing strategy to improve flexibility and supply assurance.
  • Forecast containment and inflation projects for current and future years.
  • Establish goals to improve trade working capital with increased payment terms, lower inventory, and shorter lead times.
  • Develop a capacity and regionalization plan for each part of the commodity.
  • Establish agreements with suppliers.
  • Perform electronic sourcing bid events.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance (PPM).
  • Effectively communicate, lead meetings, make presentations, and use tact and professionalism at all times by using core competencies
