About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and talented Commodity Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands on with our team in America and our global teams across the world! Our Commodity Manager will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing our global indirect strategy development and deployment of the Indirect Commodities for the company. This is a highly visible role responsible for working with cross functional teams to understand their requirements and selecting, negotiating, contracting and managing the supplier relationships. This is a hybrid role with three days onsite at our flagship manufacturing facility located in Rock Hill, SC

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or other discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in global manufacturing companies with increasing responsibilities in a multi-site, multi-product company.
  • Strong, concise communication skills (written & verbal) with the ability to influence/persuade while working across various levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and work in Cross-Functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and possess good problem-solving & analytical skills.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office suite - Excel, PowerPoint expertise required.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Global IT Hardware, Software, and Services is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Global Travel sourcing (Airlines, Hotels, Car Rentals) and Global Concur Travel platforms is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience in formal Project Management methodologies; PMP certification is a significant plus.
  • A master's degree in business or a technical field would be a plus.
  • APICS and/or ISM Certification a plus.
  • Domestic and International Supplier negotiations a plus
  • Working knowledge of Oracle is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with department stakeholders to enhance and/or implement commodity strategies: improving cost, supplier engagement, and agreement terms.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and assist management throughout the organization in decision making relative to the request/ supplier selection at hand.
  • Lead multi-site Cross-functional teams as required on the following processes: Strategic Sourcing - Lead the strategic sourcing process including RFQ development, quotation reviews, supplier/contract negotiations and supplier development. Lead sourcing meetings with IT, Facilities, Finance, HR, Engineering, Marketing, etc., as needed, to reach consensus on sourcing.
  • Negotiations - Act as the lead negotiator with suppliers in specific commodities to deliver stated objectives. Expectation that cost is a top priority, and each agreement should be negotiated to the best of our ability.
  • Supplier Development - Work with Engineering, IT, Facilities, Finance, HR, Marketing and other support departments to develop new suppliers with systems to support quick development, low cost, and high quality/ satisfaction.
  • Supply Management – Develop working relationship with Suppliers. Establish lines of communication with suppliers to ensure proactive notification of any exception status. Support the implementation of Master Services Agreements/ Service Level Agreement (MSA/ SLA), Statement of Work (SOW), Temp Agency Agreements, as applicable.
  • Own the supplier relationship for the major suppliers in the areas (commodities) of responsibility.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the world-class supply chain process to ensure that existing processes are targeted to attain excellence versus industry. benchmarks.
  • Model and promote 3D SYSTEMS leadership standards to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to achieve business goals.
  • Assist in mentoring and training Buyers in best practices.
  • Preparation of RFP/RFQ’s for all segments, negotiation and re-negotiation of price quotes. Initiates, negotiates and maintains contracts in collaboration with key stakeholders and in-house legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Cross-Functional Teams to support continuous improvement projects & new programs to ensure Corporate and team goals are met. Connect and work with global commodity teams/initiatives to drive maximum leverage within the company.
  • Compliance: Complies with all 3D Systems Purchasing policies and procedures. Ensures strict compliance with 3D Systems Quality standards.
  • Purchase Order Processing – Place purchase orders and release shipments against purchase orders as required to meet the requirements of internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure meeting or exceeding KPI’s related to buyer performance – Cost Savings / Avoidance, Supplier Quality, Delivery, Past Due & Unconfirmed PO’s and cash flow goals for inventory and payables.
  • Lead projects and cost reduction initiatives as aligned with the Indirect Procurement goals.
  • Advocate for Procure to Pay best practices and PO processing in order to control spend and ensure spend is properly approved following the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
