About The Position

A Purchasing Commodity Manager oversees the purchasing, budgeting, and management of specific goods or materials for a company, focusing on developing strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring supply continuity while optimizing costs and quality.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on commodity management.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and market research.
Experience with procurement software and ERP systems.
Knowledge of supply chain best practices and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or 10 year’s experience in Architectural Millwork Industry.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for specific commodities, considering market trends, supplier capabilities, and company needs.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing and performance standards.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, such as negotiating better prices, optimizing supply chains, and improving processes.
Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement, such as supply disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, operations, project management and finance, to align procurement strategies with company objectives.
Monitor market trends, analyze supplier performance, and identify potential sourcing opportunities.
Ensure timely and accurate execution of purchase orders, managing inventory levels, and resolving any issues that may arise.
Utilize data and analytics to track performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
