About The Position

We’re looking for a Commodity Manager to develop commodity strategies for current and future programs, source and qualify vendors, negotiate pricing, and place purchase orders to fulfill demand. Ensure the smooth and cost-efficient material flow to support our operations. Develop and execute supply chain project plans for assigned new product development projects. Manage all aspects of assigned commodities – commodity strategies, market conditions, technology roadmaps, and should cost creation. Manage a supply base that meet Singer’s Cost, Quality, and Delivery targets. Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields
• Three (3) plus years of experience as Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Purchasing Specialist, GSM or equivalent
• Proven ability to onboard and contract pricing agreements with suppliers
• Knowledge of procurement strategies, should cost models and technology roadmaps

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for issuance of RFQs
• Manage supplier relationships and performance to achieve program milestones and customer requirements.
• Be accountable for ensuring accuracy of part master data within MRP
• Generate purchase requisitions and place Purchase Orders with suppliers to meet demand
• Support issuing RFI, RFP, RFQ, PO placement and other purchasing activities as needed.
