About The Position

Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (SIRE) is seeking an experienced Commodities Support Specialist to join their team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for inbound and outbound traffic, ensuring smooth operations for grain receiving and product shipping. The specialist will be responsible for weighing trucks, directing drivers, reviewing tickets for accuracy and grain grades, data entry, quality control, and providing coverage for other positions within the commodities department. This position requires excellent customer service, multitasking abilities, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. The role involves working various shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays, as it functions as a trainer/fill-in position. The Commodities Support Specialist collaborates with other departments to ensure timely and accurate information flow, contributing to SIRE's safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous customer service experience

  • Office 365 Knowledge.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

  • Manual dexterity (typing, data entry and writing).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in grain receiving preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the operations of an ethanol plant preferred.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 preferably Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Review tickets for accuracy and grades on grain delivered to SIRE.
  • Weigh all trucks coming into and leaving the plant and directing trucks to the proper location for loading/unloading within the plant.
  • Scanning of contracts and slips in a timely manner.
  • Enter customer and product data into accounting software.
  • Keeping the area around the probe house and scale house clean and presentable at all times.
  • Document SOP contents for areas as it develops.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain frequent and effective communications with all departments.
  • Provide support to the scale house, probe house, and the commodities department.
  • Responsible for training all positions assigned to the scale and probe house.
  • Other duties may be assigned to accomplish the safe and timely operations within the plant.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
