About The Position

JLL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager, Commissioning to join their Commissioning & Building Analytics (CBA) team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex projects across various industry sectors, providing reliable, timely, and efficient support. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record, strong leadership skills, and excel at problem-solving and decision-making.

Requirements

  • A recognized university technical degree or equivalent. Engineering Degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience using mechanical testing meters and equipment to analyze and report on test results, including portable data loggers, air flow meters, TAB reports, etc.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant mechanical or electrical engineering and/or field-testing experience.
  • Strong data management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple project schedules concurrently.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
  • Any combination of Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), Certified Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP), or Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) designations is considered an asset.
  • LEED AP certification is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of sustainability concepts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally when needed to support global projects.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing meters and equipment to analyze and report on test results, including Power Quality Meters (PQM), thermography, NETA tests, ground tests, hi-pot, megger, etc., is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and execute all commissioning phases from design review through post-construction, providing technical expertise and field oversight across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Create robust commissioning plans, specifications, activity schedules, and sequence-of-work aligned with ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED requirements
  • Lead comprehensive on-site commissioning including equipment inspections, startup oversight, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, and seasonal/performance verification
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors; chair commissioning meetings to ensure effective stakeholder communication and project alignment
  • Conduct thorough design drawing reviews, specification reviews, and submittal evaluations to verify systems meet project requirements and identify potential issues
  • Utilize calibrated testing equipment (flow hoods, thermal cameras, power quality meters, anemometers) to test and verify HVAC, building automation, plumbing, lighting controls, and emergency power systems
  • Develop and track issues logs, compile systems manuals, create training programs for operations staff, and provide comprehensive support for all commissioning documentation requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to client sites across the USA to oversee project implementation and provide support.
  • Assist the team in meeting the demands of a heavy workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
