The Commissioning Provider I serves as a technical resource supporting Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) projects, with a primary focus on HVAC system optimization, operational performance, and verification of energy savings outcomes. Projects are generally delivered across complex, multi-building and multi-campus portfolios within higher education and healthcare environments. The role functions as an internal quality and performance resource, collaborating with engineering, construction, controls, and operations teams throughout design and execution. It ensures system designs and sequences of operation are installed in alignment with project intent and support energy performance targets, with consistent delivery across large, complex, multi-site programs. The position supports commissioning planning and execution, design reviews, sequence validation, functional performance testing, and identification of opportunities to improve system efficiency, reliability, and maintainability. The Commissioning Provider works with retro-commissioning teams, controls contractors, and design teams to optimize airside and waterside systems and support project turnover and long-term operational performance. The role requires technical expertise in HVAC systems, building automation systems, and energy conservation strategies, as well as the ability to analyze complex system interactions and drive issue resolution across multidisciplinary teams. It emphasizes execution quality, documentation, and continuous improvement. The position requires 30–50% travel. The work environment is described as quiet. Physical activities include standing or sitting for prolonged periods, climbing stairs, repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions, and assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work.
