This role is a technical resource supporting Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) projects, with a primary focus on HVAC system optimization, operational performance, and verification of energy savings outcomes. Projects are generally delivered across complex, multi-building and multi-campus portfolios within higher education and healthcare environments. The Commissioning Provider functions as an internal quality and performance resource, collaborating with engineering, construction, controls, and operations teams throughout design and execution. The position ensures that system designs and sequences of operation are installed in alignment with project intent and support energy performance targets, while promoting consistent delivery across large, complex, multi-site programs. The role includes commissioning planning and execution, design reviews, sequence-of-operation validation, coordination of functional performance testing, and identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency, reliability, and maintainability. The Commissioning Provider works with the retro-commissioning team, controls contractors, and design teams to optimize airside and waterside systems and support successful project turnover and long-term operational performance. It requires expertise in HVAC systems, building automation systems, and energy conservation strategies, along with the ability to analyze complex system interactions and drive issue resolution across multidisciplinary teams. The position emphasizes execution quality, documentation, and continuous improvement. The position requires 30–50% travel. The work environment is described as quiet. Physical requirements include prolonged standing or sitting, climbing stairs, repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions, assessing the accuracy and thoroughness of assigned work, and light work involving adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
