About The Position

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented Commissioning Project Manager to join our dedicated team at our office in Blue Bell, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities for mission-critical data center projects. This role ensures that all electrical, mechanical, and control systems are designed, installed, tested, and operated according to project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience
  • 8 or more years of experience in commissioning, construction, or project management within mission-critical/data center environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure (UPS systems, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, switchgear, etc.).
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Familiarity with commissioning standards and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), LEED, or similar certification.
  • Experience with large-scale or hyperscale data centers.
  • Knowledge of controls systems (BMS/EPMS) and automation platforms.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end- to- end commissioning activities for data center projects, including planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
  • Develop and manage commissioning plans, scripts, and procedures for all critical systems (HVAC, electrical, BMS/EPMS, fire protection, etc.).
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure proper system integration and functionality.
  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Identify, track, and resolve commissioning issues, deficiencies, and risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute guidelines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports, including commissioning documentation, test results, and turnover packages.
  • Support client training and handover processes to operations teams.
