Collaborate. Innovate. Automate. The Top Hat Engineering (THE) team brings technology and people together in innovative ways to deliver state–of–the–art products, services, and expertise. Our extensive portfolio of solutions spans from traditional inventory, fulfillment and delivery to specialized strategy, automation, engineering, analytics, leadership, and logistics. Our diverse committed team invests in our people, processes, platforms and the communities in which we live. THE is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to support the implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automated solutions within the warehouse automation industry. The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer with an interest in automation and a willingness to work hands-on across software, industrial controls, networking, and system integration. This role is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with automated equipment, and seeing engineering solutions progress from installation through successful customer operation. The Commissioning Engineer will work closely with Controls Engineers, Project Engineers, technicians, project managers, and customer teams to ensure automated solutions are properly configured, tested, validated, and ready for production use. Position Summary: Commissioning Engineers are critical to the successful implementation and deployment of warehouse automation solutions. In this role, you will support the onsite commissioning of automated solutions, helping transition equipment and software from installation through testing and into reliable customer operation. The Commissioning Engineer will develop a strong understanding of how automated equipment, controls, software, industrial networks, and warehouse processes interact as part of an integrated system. This role does not require expertise in every technical discipline; instead, it requires a systems-oriented mindset, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with the appropriate engineering teams to identify and resolve issues. The successful candidate will spend significant time onsite at customer facilities and must be comfortable working in active warehouse environments, traveling extensively, and supporting projects through commissioning, system validation, and operational readiness.
