POSITION SUMMARY: The Sales Commissions Analyst calculates monthly incentive commissions for all sales employees in the Varicent ICM platform, ensuring payouts align with established compensation plans and meet standards for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. This role partners closely with Finance, Sales, and Human Resources to investigate and resolve commission-related inquiries. Additionally, the role plays a key part in analyzing sales performance data, providing insights that support the design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of sales compensation plans. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This individual is self-motivated and committed to delivering high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or a related quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a financial or analytical role, preferably supporting sales teams and/or managing commission analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and confidently, collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including cross-functional teams, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as experience with SQL and sales data reporting tools.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to partner across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical abilities with keen attention to detail.

  • Experience in Varicent or other similar commission tools (Xactly, CaptivateIQ)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the commission tool to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant calculation of compensation plans and payouts.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources and Sales Operations to track changes in sales employee data, including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and retroactive updates.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of comprehensive testing scenarios within Varicent for new compensation plans and plan modifications.
  • Improve and develop reports and dashboards according to user requirements and needs.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain reports to assess the effectiveness of incentive programs, including regular analysis of sales attainment relative to business outcomes, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation to support efficient and effective management of compensation-related activities.
  • Support ad hoc analysis, reporting, and data requests related to commissions and sales performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within assigned workstreams and collaborate with key stakeholders to implement enhancements.
