About The Position
An established insurance MGA is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to support new business production. This role focuses on evaluating and underwriting E&S risks while maintaining strong relationships with agency partners. The position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative underwriting environment.
Requirements
- Prior experience in Commercial Lines underwriting, with a focus on new business
- Ability to evaluate risk and make sound underwriting decisions
- Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license or ability to obtain
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with E&S markets preferred
- Established relationships with agency partners preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, prioritize, and select new business submissions for underwriting
- Identify risk exposures, hazards, and appropriate mitigation strategies
- Review claims history and assess loss trends
- Analyze risk data to support underwriting decisions and pricing
- Apply underwriting guidelines and maintain discipline to manage exposure
- Collaborate with agency partners to support new business growth
